Why Join or Start a Team?
The Walk with Jesus is more than an individual journey, it’s a shared mission. By joining or creating a team, you multiply your impact and help bring hope to individuals experiencing homelessness through Salty Farm Ministries.
Whether you’re walking with friends, family, coworkers, or your church, teams make fundraising more powerful, more fun, and more meaningful.
Together, every step and every gift help us move closer to our mission of serving those in need with compassion, dignity, and the love of Jesus.
Walk Fundraising Tips
Start with your personal network.
Reach out first to family, close friends, coworkers, and church community. Personal messages, texts, calls, or direct conversations are the most effective way to secure early support.
Share your “why.”
People give to purpose. Let others know why you are walking and why this mission matters to you. A personal story or heartfelt reason goes a long way in inspiring generosity.
Ask directly and clearly.
Don’t just post, invite people to give. A simple, direct ask such as “Would you consider supporting my walk?” is often the most effective approach.
Make it easy to give.
Always include your donation link or QR code when sharing. The simpler it is to give, the more likely people are to support you.
Set a personal goal.
Having a clear fundraising goal (such as $250, $500, or $1,000) helps motivate both you and your supporters.
Light Bearers raise $250 – helping bring encouragement and practical support to those in need. Every step you take carries hope into the community.
Hope Carriers raise $500 – demonstrating strong commitment to the mission—building faith in action and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
Faith in Action Champions raise $1000 - leading by example through generosity and impact. You are truly being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Kingdom Impact Leaders raise $5000 - a powerful force for change—helping expand the mission and bring lasting transformation to lives in need.
Follow up.
Most donations come after a second or third reminder. A kind follow-up message can make a big difference.
Share progress updates.
Let your supporters know how close you are to your goal. Updates create momentum and encourage others to give.
Say thank you.
Always take time to thank each donor. Gratitude builds relationships and encourages continued support.
